Ode to my iPhone

A few weeks ago I was able to upgrade my phone and I definitely needed it. The phone I got right before we got married stopped holding a charge so I had switched back to my olddd Razr that was also a piece of crap. So, I talked the hubby into letting me get an iPhone!!! I only got the 8GB because I didn't really see the need to pay an extra $100 for video and voice recognition. Plus I have an iPod that has my music on it. And of course I love love love the iPhone. I don't even think I've figured out half of the things it's capable of and for some reason I haven't read the manual yet. *gasp* I always read the manuals- I know, I'm awesome. I love being able to check my email and get online anywhere anytime, especially since my laptop died a few months ago. (The hubs is on the computer most of the time for school stuff so I don't get a lot of time while I'm at home to use his computer.) So far these are the apps I have:

I'm also thinking about getting Twitter...even though I always said I wouldn't, but an iPhone changes things haha!
Okay, so what apps do I need to have?! Any suggestions?

Rant and Award

Okay, so I'm not a freakish American Idol fan, but I have watched most of the seasons (except last season for no particular reason - but thank God I didn't because Adam Lambert was ick last night in my opinion). Anyway, this Aaron kid has got to go. Yeah yeah he's cute and can sing pretty well but he has no idea what he's doing. So you little pre-teans that are obsessed please stop voting because you're sending home better artists- like Andrew!! Alright, I'm done.

On a lighter note, Elizabeth over at I Can't Believe It's Not Dead gave me an award! Thanks lady!
1. I graduated college 2 years ago and I still have yet to do anything with my degree. Sometimes I feel like I failed. Then I get over it and thank the economy for keeping me in this dead-end job. And when I say 'thank' I mean curse.
2. I really want to adopt an Asian baby. They're the cutest.
3. Sometimes I wish my husband was still in the Marines. I hate that I missed out when he was in... tropical island, awesome people and delicious food. Oh well, I'm thankful to have a husband who isn't deployed for the majority of the time.
4. I'm obsessed with Mexican food. No, really ask my husband. I could eat my weight in it.
5. That being said, I would really like to be a vegetarian and, dare I say it, a vegan. I have cut out certain foods and I'm making baby steps. (its hard when your husband insists on having meat every day)
6. One of my goals in life is to run a marathon or 20. I've done the half, but I really need to get my butt in shape for a full.
7. I've had many career aspirations through out my life, but I've never been very career oriented. They include: marine biologist, military, astronaut, doctor, nurse... what? I had high hopes for myself.
8. I'm scared I won't be able to have babies. I only have one ovary, but my Dr. has assured me that I will have as many babies as I want. I think I read too many blogs where woman have issues trying to conceive and my heart always breaks for them.
9. My husband thinks it's really weird I read blogs of people I don't know. I say whatever and continue to read.
10. I love that we have friends around the country thanks to the Marine Corps. Even though I was never stationed with Mike I love that we have an extended family!

Sweeet!

1. It's Friday! Praise the Lord -I live for the weekends!

Please reminisce on the awesome shows of TGIF for a minute: Step by Step, Boy Meets World, Dinosaurs, Family Matters, Hangin with Mr. Cooper...

2. Elizabeth is doing another awesome giveaway, check it out! She's giving away some delicious looking sweets from Suzannes-Specialties YUM!

3. It's three o'clock, which means work is almost over and I get to go home and take a nap! Before you call me lame, we were up until after 1am because M's Grandma is in the hospital and his mom came into town. After we left the hospital last night we hung out with M's mom and cousins and then had a 40 minute drive home at midnight. Please pray for his Grandma!
Us with Gram at Thanksgiving- she's so cute!
Have a fab weekend!

Bathing suit season?!

Not sure where March went, but here we are in the first week of April. Here in Georgia we've already had a few pool days... well days that it was hot enough to lay out- probably not so much on getting in the frigid water. Our apartment pool is open year around, however it's not heated. Unfortunately, I have an immense love for laying out and summer in general which lead me to put on my bathing suit yesterday and hit the pool. (Too bad its spring break around here and there were way too many annoying teenagers... I only lasted an hour) All this to say I was not ready to bare all (okay, not all) in my swim suit. So, for the past week I've been doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred along with trying to get my butt back in running shape. If you've never done this work out it's definitely worth the $10! She will kick your butt and the best part, for me at least since I work full-time, is that it's only 20 minutes a day. I don't have time to get a 30-45 minute run in every day so this is perfect! I have missed a couple of days, but I'm trying my hardest to do it every day so I can feel comfortable in my skin in a month when I'll be at the pool a lot. So, give it a try! P.S. Does anyone else think Jillian looks a little creepy on the cover of this?

And now a few motivational pictures and cute suits!

Pshhh no one really wants to look like that anyway...

**I get a lot of crap for talking about working out... No, I don't think I need to lose weight, I don't think I'm fat (so what if I tell my husband I am ha) and I'm not on a diet. I want to tone up, be in shape and eat healthy. So there :)
