Cookies!

The ever so talented Elizabeth at I Can't Believe It's Not Dead is giving away a copy of Vegan Cookies Invade your Cookie Jar. Now, I'm pretty sure (actually I know for sure) all 5 of you that read my blog are not vegan and neither am I. However, if you can eat cookies and be some what healthy about it, why not? Plus, Elizabeth is the best cook ever and I wish I had her talent and energy to be vegan. I know, I know I like meat too, but go read some statistics about not eating meat (or meat products) it's pretty astounding. Plus when she tells you to enjoy your rotting animal carcass you'll be sure to put that chicken finger back on your plate. So go to her blog and try some of her recipes, they're great! And enter to win the cookbook! (Actually don't because I want it!)

Way too long.

I abandoned my blog for way too long. Our laptop died so we just have our desktop now... which sounds kind of materialistic, but Michael is usually on the computer doing homework so I mostly catch up on my blog reading at work. And seeing as how I'm not really supposed to be on the internet at work (I know, sad!) I don't have a lot of time to post blogs. Anyway, on to the real part of this post.

Thanks Elizabeth! This reminds me of the hundreds of Myspace questions we used to answer!

Question 1: Where were you five years ago?

1. In my second semester of college.
2. Just turned 19.
3. About to learn that my now husband's first duty station would be Japan.
4. Living at home with my parents.
5. Thinking the time would never come that I would finish college and get married.

Question 2: What is (was) on your to-do list today?

1. Work.
2. Supposed to be running.
3. Meeting Mike at school to eat dinner.
4. Instead going to a viewing. (I hate viewings)
5. Hopefully going to bed early to kick this cold.

Question 3: What five snacks do you enjoy?

1. Anything chocolate.
2. Chips, pita, or veggies with hummus.
3. Chips & salsa.
4. Cheese.
5. Olives.

Question 4: What five places have you lived?

1. I was born in Indianapolis.
2. Ohio for 10 months.
3. Nashville.
4. Georgia.
5. I've moved every year since I was 19. All in Kennesaw. I need change!!

Question 5: What five things would you do if you were a billionaire?

1. Immediately pack my bathing suit and take a vaca to the beach.
2. Buy a house. On the beach.
3. Give lots to our families.
4. Shop till I can't even walk anymore! <-- I agree.
5. Give more to charity, which sounds so cliche but it's true. I don't need billions.

2009

I'm a little late (I gave myself a break since I'm recovering from surgery), but this seems to be all the rave in the blog world! So here is my recap:

-We celebrated our first Valentine's Day together as a married couple and it was our first actually being together since we did the long distance thing. We went outlet shopping and made a delicious dinner at home.

-I turned 23 a week later and M took me out to dinner... we love eating :)

-My middle sister, Heather, got engaged!

-We decided to try and buy a house and found one that we really wanted, however, it didn't work out.

-I had surgery to remove a cyst off my ovary and ended up losing my right ovary. We later found out that doctor wasn't the best and dropped her!

-Two weeks later my sister got married!

-We moved to a bigger, cheaper apartment only 6 miles from my work! And I then decided I was tired of moving every year.

-We celebrated our one year anniversary! Had a delicious Italian dinner and sat around all day because that was the week Atlanta flooded.

-We ran the Marine Corps Half Marathon in Jacksonville with some of our good friends...we didn't really train, but we ran it and had a blast that weekend!

-Learned I needed surgery yet again to finish the job that the last doctor decided to screw up.

-Celebrated Thanksgiving with M's family and spent the weekend at their lake house with his parents.

-Worked a lot in December, no fun.

-My sister and her husband came home from California for a few weeks for Christmas... which we spent with my family

-Lost my Grandma to cancer on Dec 27th

-Had surgery on the 28th and missed the funeral since it was in Indianapolis

-Rang in the New Year with great friends and a Percocet haha!

Hopefully I will make sense...

Even though I have like 4 readers, I feel the need to post to say I'm still alive haha. The title refers to my being on Percocet from my surgery last Monday (28th). Hopefully this surgery will have taken care of everything and my ovary will decide to stop producing dermoid cysts. So the run down on surgery: the dr. drained a pound of liquid out of the one cyst that the other dr. did the last time just so he get my ovary out. (yes he took my ovary out of my body to remove the cysts, crazy!) He is almost positive that cyst was not a simple cyst like the last dr. thought. And he found another smaller dermoid. He said that the surgery went great and we'll have as many babies as we want :) We spent Monday and most of Tuesday in the hospital and he let us come home after dinner on Tuesday. I could have stayed one more night, but we got no sleep Monday night because the nurses come in every two hours to check my temperature, blood pressure, inscision, take blood, give me medicine or whatever else they did. Also, I was in the women's center part of the hospital and every time a baby is born they play a lullaby over the loud speaker... um really? Cute if it's 2 in the afternoon, but super annoying when it's 2 am!
I basically slept all last week and this week I am working from home (wish I could work from home on a regular basis!).
Anyway I plan to keep up with blogging better so more posts to come.

Christmas already?

I feel like it was just Thanksgiving. Now that I'm in the real world (ha!) and work full-time, I feel like I Christmas comes and goes and I don't get to fully enjoy it. I work for a produce distribution company (I'm an assistant to one of the brokers- sounds better than it actually is) and the broker I assist sells citrus and December is the busiest month for citrus. So, I'm always working over-time and on the weekends and I can never find enough time to get all my shopping, baking and decorating done. We still haven't picked out our tree yet, but we are going on Saturday to do that. My boss buys everyone in the office a Christmas tree (!) so we have to drive down to the farmer's market in Atlanta to pick it out. I wish our apartment was already decorated! Someone come help me!

We don't have a staircase and I'm sure the people in our apartment building would think I'm weird if I start decorating the railings outside.

And we don't have a fireplace or mantle so this one will have to wait too.

And we won't be having anyone over for Christmas dinner. But it's fun dream and one day we'll have our own house that I will enjoy decorating.

Celebrity Look-a-likes?

A couple of weeks ago I was getting my hair cut. I've known the girl who cuts my hair for awhile and she told me that I look like Blake Lively- she even said I have her mannerisms. Now, this is the second person who has told me this. (A guy recently told me I reminded him of Drew Barrymore... I'll ignore that because he's a man)

I'm not sure that I see it...

Has anyone ever told you that you look like a celebrity?

Sunday Funday

Actually today wasn't too exciting. First, it rained all day and I'm pretty sure it never got out of the 40's today. Ew cold weather. Second, we're getting into the busiest season at work so I bring home work on the weekends. Clearly not fun... unless you make lots o' money and I do not. The good parts to today: church with the hubby (it was decorated for Christmas already, so pretty), lunch at Olive Garden (soup and salad and breadsticks oh my!), hanging out on the couch under a warm, fuzzy blanket with Mike with fresh, baked cookies. So, since I don't really have anything exciting for the 2 of you who read this I figured I would just post some pictures since its been awhile.

I made a cake for the Marine Corps Birthday

These are our precious cousins. The twins, Elliot and Emma, were in our wedding. We babysat them last month and we were playing with their new 3D chalk!
Anna and Mike blowing bubbles with Anna's Dora the Explorer Bubbles
Elliot and Emma with their 3D glasses
So darn cute!
Us at the pumpkin patch and corn maze

Well, time to get some sleep before a busy 3 day work week!
